Plastic Yuban Container Made coffee undrinkable - Yuban 42.5 oz plastic coffee container

We have been Yuban coffee drinkers for years. Grandparents and my in-laws only buy Yuban so we grew up knowing this was a great cup of coffee at a great price. I recently went to purchase our Yuban at Sam's Club and notice Yuban changed the packaging. Yuban now comes in a plastic container that holds less coffee for the same price. My husband made the morning pot of coffee and we thought he must have missed counted scoops. Second bad pot of coffee we thought oh, maybe the coffee pot needs to a deep clean. after third pot of coffee that morning we realized that it was the new plastic containers! The plastic gave the coffee a bitter wierd taste. Now I'm suck with two full container of Yuban coffee (one open and our unopened back up) I have had to purchase a new brand (Safeway Select Kono) I asked the rest of the family and they all had similiar experience with the new plastic containers. They are all now drinking Safeway Select Kono coffee!! This is what we will be purchasing till the stop producing a this crap!

we were very happy after two years of not finding Yuban coffee and drinking target coffee that we found yuban at Krogers again. The first pot, no smell and tasted like dish water. So we bought a new coffee pot and made somemore, again crap. so later that day made it with a french press and it tasted like like crap too. what happened ? to our Yuban, I read fillers and a mix of beans, we bought 7 plastic conatiners, we will be returning them to kroger. My wife wanted to donate them to our shelter, I would not let her those poor souls have enough stuff to deal with, they need better coffee, Seriously this is crap

The LARGE round top on the plastic container is not user friendly. It is too hard to grab the top AND turn it. I'm referring to the 1 lb 13 oz size. As far as taste, my husband asked if it was last nights coffee :( Why is the diameter so large anyway?

Came to the same conclusion. I thought I had lost the knack for making coffee. I tried three different types of coffee pot. I tried a more expensive source of water. Then I thought maybe, being older than most, my taste buds were changing, but good restaurant coffee still tasted like it should - like coffee. I have two open containers that are a little more than half full (expensive) but I'm just going to toss them and buy some kind of coffee that still uses a metal can. We don't have Safeway here .. Any suggestions - anyone?

P.S. And yes, I do keep my coffee in a dark, dry, cool cabinet.
